SYTYCD 50 SHADES

So I've been watching So You Think You Can Dance, and A lil' while back the judges said that this dude looks a bit like Ryan Gosling...and even though they say the piece is inspired by The Titanic, I'd like to believe that they put a lil' 50 Shades into it!

Dance Moms VS Redneck Island...love em' or leave em'

So, I've recently experienced the shows Redneck Island and Dance Moms...brought to you by channels that used to never cater to "reality tv"; Lifetime and CMT... Both shows have equally annoying and total train wreck (i know i shouldn't watch, but can't take my eyes off it) qualities in their own rite...

First up: Redneck Island: Airs on CMT this Saturday...The title itself seems like my cup o'tea...Steve Austin is the host and he manages to keep the groups quenched with beer so far....its Survivor for Rednecks, dumbed down ALOT...tune in to see what I mean....

And then we have: Dance Moms: Airs Tuesday nights on Lifetime...the ballet dance version of Toddlers and Tiaras, except the Dance teacher is the head bitch and it's kinda fun to see which moms stick up to her or not. Drama as to be expected, but these moms either hate each other or gang up on Teacher...teacher deserves it, but these ladies are soo living vicariously thru their kids....of course they are ;)

Regardless, I think I will randomly watch both of these shows in the near future....depends on my mood tho.

Neneh Cherry: Old Skool vs. New Skool: Cher Lloyd

Cheryl Lloyd was a contestant on the UK X Factor....She is amazing and one of her songs on her debut album is a remake of  Neneh Cherry's Buffalo Stance...If you were 10 years old by 1992 you may recognize the original song....

Well here is her take on the song...titled Playa Boi....And here is another blog I found on her:

Nailed It!

So, I'm a huge fan of Pinterest.com and saw a pic of these no bake cake batter truffles....looked amazing, sounded easy enough, so I tried it....here's the recipe:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 cup yellow cake mix
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3-4 Tablespoons milk
  • 2 Tablespoons sprinkles
Truffle Coating:
  • 16 ounces (8 squares) almond bark (or white candy melts)
  • 4 Tablespoons yellow cake mix
  •  sprinkles
Beat together butter and sugar using an electric mixer until combined. Blend in vanilla.  Add cake mix, flour, salt, and vanilla and mix thoroughly. Add 3 Tablespoons of milk or more if needed to make a dough consistency. Mix in sprinkles by hand. Roll dough into one inch balls and place on a parchment or wax paper lined cookie sheet. Chill balls in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up.

While dough balls are chilling, melt almond bark in the microwave in 30 second intervals until melted. Stir between intervals. Once melted, quickly stir in cake mix until incorporated completely. Using a fork, dip truffles into almond bark and shake of excess bark by tapping the bottom of the fork on the side of your bowl. Place truffle back on the cookie sheet and top with sprinkles. Repeat with remaining balls until finished. {Note: for smoother looking truffles, don't add cake mix to melted chocolate, just leave it by itself}

Here's how theirs looked:

Here's how MINE looked:

They're supposed to be Lilac for Easter, but you can't really see the color in the pic, and I couldn't put the sprinkles on the outside because I forgot till they were all almost set and hard already, but I did try them, and they are rich, but soo good! Next time I will try and be more artistic!
